THE INSPIRATION
05 / BEYOND THE GAME
Haicuo Files follows the odd stories behind the ocean: old records, wild retellings, and a modern look at what might have happened. Not every mystery gets a neat ending.
COMPANION STORY SERIES · IN DEVELOPMENTA strangely human shape in the water. What were they really looking at?
An extraordinary octopus. An even stranger human story.
How did two such different predators end up in the same story?
These are upcoming story themes, not released episodes. You can enjoy the game without knowing any of the legends.
06 / A NOTE FROM THE CREATOR
On holiday in Noosa, I was playing a black-hole eating game and wondered if I could use AI to make a little eating game of my own.
The Haicuo Tu gave that idea a world; Taotie gave it an appetite. I kept trying things, playing, and making changes. Somewhere along the way, it became TUNHAI.
Still making it. Still playing it.
